Tiverton Area Communities Transition started in 2008 in the village of Sampford Peverell, it is part of the Transition Network Initiative. Transition Network's role is to inspire, encourage, connect, support and train communities as they self-organise to create initiatives that rebuild resilience and reduce CO2 emissions.

Our local initiative quickly expanded to involve people in the neighbouring villages of Uffculme, Halberton, Holcombe Rogus, Uplowman, Hockworthy, Burlescombe, Huntsham and Clayhanger, then after a few years expanded into Tiverton.

Our focus is to raise awareness in our communities about the challenges arising from global warming and peak oil and encourage local initiatives to meet those challenges.
